Trinseo Showcases a Diverse Range of Material Solutions at Fakuma

Trinseo (NYSE: TSE), the global materials company and manufacturer of plastics, latex and rubber, is participating at Fakuma, the second largest international trade fair for plastics,  October 13- 17, in Friedrichshafen, Germany. This is the first year the company will be exhibiting as Trinseo (previously Styron), highlighting its role in a wide range of plastics application areas.

During the show, Trinseo will underscore its engineering capabilities in the industries it supports, demonstrating how its product development is aligned with global trends such as lightweighting, energy efficiency, safety and cost reduction. Trinseo’s presence at Fakuma will feature success stories from its market-serving solutions emphasizing the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that are most meaningful to its customers.

In addition to exhibiting, Trinseo’s Wassim Berrak, sales manager, Consumer Essential Markets, and Mike Hale, development leader, Research & Development will present the company’s progress in the development of chemical resistant polycarbonate grades for medical applications.

  • Medical: an advanced line of products offering material solutions for single and multiple use devices and equipment housings including chemical resistant grades that withstand aggressive cleaning and disinfection as well as color-stabilized polycarbonate to mitigate the effects of radiation sterilization.

  • Consumer Electronics: a comprehensive portfolio of grades that offers excellent processability for design flexibility, premium aesthetics and enhanced electrical properties for applications such as Consumer Device Parts and Enclosures, Accessories, Information Technology Equipment (ITE), and Ignition-Resistant PC Films . Included are consumer-focused recycled grades.
  • Automotive: a new line of ENLITE™ structural polymers, which enables lightweight technologies needed to answer market demands for fuel- and cost-efficiency. This advanced portfolio, including ENLITE™ Long Glass Fiber Polypropylene (PP LGF) and ENLITE™ Glass Fiber (GF) Alloys, is the result of targeted research and development in structural polymers for lift-gates, front-end carriers, door modules and other semi-structural vehicle applications.
  • Food Packaging: a mix of optimized technologies and products designed to address high consumer expectations for food quality and safety as well as the need for convenience, product visibility and packaging options. Polystyrene resins, including STYRON™ C-TECH and STYRON A-TECH™ 1200, offer high processing speeds and optimal thermoforming properties to provide cost savings through product substitution, weight reductions and increased blending opportunities.
  • Home Appliances: a broad portfolio of plastics with great performance that enable manufacturers to make appliances that are more robust, more cost-efficient and more in-line with market needs. Solutions such as STYRON A-TECH™ 1175 offer customers superior rigidity and design flexibility while still maintaining the ability to be downgauged, helping to meet rising industry challenges of reducing costs, improving sustainability and meeting changing consumer preferences.
  • Building and Construction: polystyrene solutions that help customers develop high-quality, energy efficient insulation products that will meet tomorrow’s requirements. Polystyrene Resins for XPS insulation boards offer an unprecedented combination of processability and application performance in insulation boards.
  • Sheet and Profile Extrusion:   Our materials range from standard to tailored high quality solutions.
