Trinseo Employees Unite Around the Sharing Tree Program in Spirit of Giving for the Holidays

One hundred Sharing Tree wishes were granted by Trinseo employees to spread holiday joy throughout the Midland, Michigan community

The Sharing Tree program, run by the United Way of Midland County, is an initiative that the whole community rallies around each year during the holidays. It helps fulfill the holiday wishes of those in need, and ensures that every person feels a caring touch in the spirit of the season.

Trinseo’s Midland employees once again elected to unite around the Sharing Tree program for their holiday charitable activity. A total of five trees, with 100 wishes hanging from their branches, were set up across Trinseo’s Midland buildings, including manufacturing and office locations. Wishes ranged from toys, video games, and books to more practical items such as, clothing, outerwear, gas cards, and bus tickets for local children and adults in need, and those who are mentally or physically disabled.

Trinseo employees granted all 100 wishes, contributing to the overall success of the program. “This is a wonderful opportunity we each have to do something small, that together has an enormous impact,” commented Anita Stinson, Trinseo’s Sharing Tree coordinator. “It’s exciting to know that we are blessing others in our community by providing them with both gifts and basic needs items to not only celebrate this Christmas but to help them into the New Year.”

Once all the wishes are granted and the many gifts are donated to United Way, it takes a small army of volunteers to inspect, organize, and distribute them to partner agencies and families all over Midland County. And when the United Way needs volunteers—they know they can rely on Trinseo employees to lend a hand. Four Trinseo Young Leaders United members took the opportunity to volunteer at Sharing Tree Distribution Day. The whole process resembles a scene from the North Pole filled with elves working tirelessly and joyously to Christmas music.

“It was inspiring to see how our employees throughout the Midland site have supported this program, fulfilling every single Sharing Tree request we received this year and by donating their time. This is another impressive example of the culture and generosity of our team, proving that Trinseo’s people care about making a positive impact on our community,” said Mike Szabo, integrated business services director.

Because of Sharing Tree, the hearts of donors, volunteers, and recipients alike, were warmed through generosity all over Midland County.
