Trinseo Encourages Awareness of EH&S with Partners

Trinseo (NYSE: TSE), a global materials solutions provider and manufacturer of plastics, latex binders and synthetic rubber, recently organized an exchange session with COSCO Shipping Chemical Logistics, the third-party Logistics (3PL) vendor of our Zhangjiagang Manufacturing Site in China.

EH&S Meeting RoomTrinseo is a partner of Operation Clean Sweep® (OCS), a plastics industry association effort to reduce plastic pellets in the environment. Recently, the Company carried out a global initiative known as the OCS Campaign Roll-out & Pledge Signing Day at all manufacturing sites to encourage all operators, plastics R&D, customers, partners, as well as 3PLs to attend.

In Zhangjiagang, COSCO SHIPPING Chemical Logistics was invited to conduct an in-depth EH&S exchange on November 20, 2019. The event was held to encourage COSCO to pay equal attention to EH&S and their commitments to also practice the same.

Apart from advocating Responsible Care® and OCS during the event, Trinseo Zhangjiagang also introduced COSCO to “Safety on Purpose” (SOP), an internal EH&S program developed two years ago. SOP has successfully enhanced employee awareness of risk prevention and safety behaviors, helping to better assess and resolve potential safety hazards as well as specifications and procedures for Safe Work Permits.

Both parties were able to further improve safety performance and enhance the safety awareness of all personnel. COSCO indicated that it would follow the Trinseo example and promote and implement what was required company-wide. Trinseo takes pride in setting a strong example for employees and vendors alike to ensure our manufacturing sites are safe and environmentally-friendly.
