Trinseo + COMMUNITY: Trinseo China Donates Materials to Care for Local Communities

Trinseo volunteer group

Giving back to the communities we serve is intrinsic to who Trinseo is as an organization. Since the outbreak of Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), we have worked hard to ensure the safety of our employees while following the development closely and initiating emergency measures in a timely manner for the prevention and management of the epidemic. At the same time, we have been paying close attention to the safety of our communities as well as the health and well-being of our neighbors.

Trinseo became aware that communities close to its Zhangjiagang (ZJG) manufacturing site in China are experiencing a shortage of protective materials required in their epidemic prevention work. We have been sourcing relevant supplies globally for residents in these five communities in an effort to do our part in helping fight the epidemic. Trinseo hopes to do our best in supporting all frontline volunteers in ZJG, and do our part, however small, in making a direct impact in the local communities where our employees live and work.

Hard work pays. On February 19, 2020, Luke Lee, General Manager of Trinseo’s ZJG site and Lu Guangqi, Trinseo’s Asia Pacific EH&S Leader sent the first batch of protective materials, including personal protective materials and sanitizers to the communities to support the volunteers. The second batch of supplies, including disposable surgical masks and infrared thermometers, will also be delivered to the communities shortly. The purpose of donating these materials is to help make sure that these volunteers are able to do a better job in protecting themselves while working for their communities.
