Trinseo (NYSE: TSE), a global materials solutions provider and manufacturer of plastics and latex binders, will participate in the TAPPICon 2021 Conference from May 1 – 4. The conference, hosted by the 107-year-old Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry (TAPPI), is North America’s premier industry association supporting the pulp, paper, and packaging industry.
The Trinseo Binders Paper & Board business has supported the global coated paper and paperboard industry for over 70 years by pioneering styrene butadiene latexes and is frequently tapped for its deep industry expertise, developing solutions, and delivering value.
Dustin Burton, Senior Technologist, will present a paper on Tuesday, May 3, entitled “Novel Test Method for Measuring Defects in Barrier Coatings,” that was co-authored by Don Ventresca, Senior Technical Service, and Development Specialist, and Greg Welsch, Global Innovation Leader, Paper, Board & Textile.
Another paper will be presented by John Roper, Adjunct Professor at the University of Main, entitled “The Influence of Rheology on Smooth Rod Coating Systems,” co-authored by Dr. Doug Bousfield, Professor at the University of Maine, and Greg Welsch, Trinseo.
Trinseo is a historic supporter and sustaining member of TAPPI. Greg Welsch is the Vice-Chair for the Coating and Graphic Arts Division for TAPPICon 2022 and is a member of the Technical Program and Coating Operations committees. And Dustin Burton is a member of the Coating Materials committee.
