MEGOL™ BIO Bio-based TPS-SEBS Compounds

The MEGOL™ BIO products family provides a bio-based alternative to fossil-based TPS without a loss in performance while offering significant environmental advantages.

MEGOL™ BIO are styrene-based thermoplastic bioplastics (TPS), the raw materials for which stem from renewable resources. These compounds guarantee the same physical-mechanical properties and the same processability as traditional fossil-based TPS.

Our bio-based TPS products are being used in cosmetics/personal care, footwear, furniture and packaging. MEGOL™ BIO includes soft grades and special food contact approved grades. Made using renewable resources, MEGOL™ BIO grades offer significant environmental benefits by reducing the emissions of greenhouse gases (e.g. carbon dioxide) and saving fossil-based resources for future generations.

The main technical characteristics of MEGOL™ BIO Bio-based TPS-SEBS Compounds are:

• Soft grades with hardness in the range of 50 ShA–90 ShA
• Food contact grades (EU 10/2011, FDA)
• Environmental benefits measured with the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
• Optimum resistance to aging (UV, ozone, atmospheric agents)
• Optimum resistance to low temperatures
• *Recyclability
