Environmental and social responsibility is embedded into Trinseo. It is intrinsic to who we are and what we do each day, and an essential element of our core values.
Building on the work we have done since 2010, we see tremendous opportunity to work in an innovative, collaborative, and reflective fashion to solve these major issues facing our industry.
Through our sustainability journey — outlined in the coming pages of this report — we are making a meaningful difference in our operations to impact our environmental and societal footprint, while also collaborating with our customers to develop disruptive innovations and new technologies that will help them to meet their sustainability goals.

Taking the Next Step in Sustainability Reporting
This year’s full Trinseo Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility Report was once again prepared in accordance with the core option of the GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards. Integrating these standards into our Sustainability Report has helped us put additional, valuable context around sustainability for our Company, our customers, our suppliers, and all of our stakeholders.
In addition, for the first time this year, we integrated disclosures aligned with the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) standards into the Index of our report. These additional disclosures enhance our reporting of the financial impacts of sustainability and come in response to a growing focus on sustainability within the investment community.
Trinseo is committed to fostering transparent and productive dialogue with all of our stakeholders, understanding that feedback and collaboration, both internal to Trinseo and with external audiences, are vital to our long-term success and our sustainability efforts. When Trinseo adopted the GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards, Trinseo’s Sustainability Council identified the following list of stakeholder groups as priorities in its consistent and collaborative efforts toward a more sustainable future: Customers, Communities, Government/Regulatory Bodies, Industry and Trade Associations, Shareholders and the Investment Community, and Suppliers. The methods by which we engage with each group vary according to their needs and proximity, but Trinseo prioritizes transparency, accuracy, and purpose in all interactions with our key stakeholders.

Aligning Our Efforts with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
Trinseo is committed to aligning with global efforts to address sustainability. As part of this, we are heeding the United Nation’s urgent call to action by examining opportunities to directly align our efforts to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our efforts to date have prioritized addressing five of these goals given their relevance to our business. This is reflected in our sustainability goal to have 50% of our products used in applications that align with the SDGs by 2030.
