Resins for Sheet and Profile Extrusion

Edgebands and profiles

Trinseo is a market leader with proven products for edgebands and profiles. MAGNUM™ ABS Resins offer an excellent balance of features, such as toughness, extrudability, and surface aesthetics. The unique low and consistent base color of MAGNUM™ ABS Resins, combined with their high color stability after processing, allow for easy color tuning. This is vital for converters, who often need to produce several hundred combinations of color and embossing, often in small order sizes.

Solid sheet (opaque and clear)

Opaque: Trinseo offers a variety of premium resins for opaque applications ranging from ignition-resistant devices, appliances, hurricane protection panels, and consumer electronics, to specialty areas, such as high-opacity PC films and diffusion sheet and films for lighting applications.

CALIBRE™ Polycarbonate for extrusion provides high quality and consistency for ease of processing and a quality end product.

MAGNUM™ ABS Resins are a material of choice. Manufactured with continuous mass polymerization technology, they provide a very stable and clean product with superior lot-to-lot consistency. 

General-purpose STYRON™ Polystyrene and STYRON A-TECH™ High Impact Polystyrene are produced via continuous mass polymerization and can be blended to achieve a desired property balance.

They demonstrate excellent processability in extrusion/thermoforming applications. 

PULSE™ PC/ABS Resins offer exceptional impact performance, even at very low temperatures, in combination with outstanding heat properties.  

Clear: Trinseo offers a variety of premium resins for clear sheet applications, such as construction, hurricane protection panels, lighting, and appliances. 

CALIBRE™ Polycarbonate Resins offer high impact strength, transparency, rigidity, dimensional stability, and exceptional performance at both high and low temperatures, together with lot-to-lot consistency for ease of processing.

TYRIL™ SAN Resins offer excellent chemical resistance, strength, hardness, dimensional stability, and transparency. 

Structured sheet (multi-wall and panels)

Trinseo supports the structured sheet marketplace with a range of high-performance thermoplastic solutions to produce structural sheets, allowing extruders to produce everything from regular or insulation panels to heavier and more-complex multi-wall sheets with enhanced thermal insulation properties.

Multi-wall: CALIBRE™ Polycarbonate Resins are “go to” products for multi-wall sheets. They present excellent processing properties, such as the highest available melt strength, which allow for precise calibration of very heavy and complex multi-wall sheets.

Panels: STYRON™ Polystyrene offers a range of polystyrene foam grades, allowing extruded polystyrene foam (XPS) customers to produce high quality insulation panels with various thicknesses, good surface finish, board thickness stability, and consistent high-production output.
