At Trinseo, we focus on creating a workplace that embodies fairness, dignity, and respect across all of our global locations. As a global manufacturer, we know our employees are central to everything we do, and their well-being is key to our ongoing success.
To support this, we strive to ensure that everyone earns a living wage that covers basic needs. Fair pay is not just about compensation - it is about ensuring our employees can live with dignity and plan for their future.
We align our guidelines for fair wage compensation according to international standards, local benchmarks, and sustainability frameworks. Regular reviews and appropriate adjustments are made to keep our wage practices fair and responsive to market changes. Additionally, we are actively assessing and will continue to monitor our living wage metrics to guide and enhance our compensation strategy over time.
For us at Trinseo, paying a living wage is more than a business requirement, it is about doing what is right. By investing in our workforce, we are also investing in the success of our company and the communities where we operate.
Living Wage Review
Scope of Application
The living wage target outlined in this review process applies to all regular, full-time employees regardless of job role, level, or location. The review covers all business units to ensure consistency and fairness across the organization.
As we evolve our Living Wage strategy and with broader market adoption, we will explore ways to extend our strategy to suppliers and partners, with the hope that we can attempt to influence the adoption of living wages beyond our direct employees.
Implementation and Reporting on Living Wages
Beginning with the 2024-2025 annual compensation planning process, Trinseo has established a process for conducting a living wage gap analysis and assessing the results.
Quantitative Metrics:
Trinseo is committed to assessing and monitoring living wage metrics as an integral part of our commitment to fair and ethical labor practices and our overall competitive total rewards programs.
- We determine living wage metrics by using data that represents the minimum income necessary for a worker to meet their basic needs. A quantitative assessment is conducted for each region where we have employees and available living wage benchmark data. The analysis is based on comprehensive analysis of local and global living wage data.
- The living wage guidelines will be annually reviewed and adjusted as needed to ensure alignment with evolving standards of living and economic conditions.
Annual living wage assessment:
Living wages assessments are part of our on-going compensation processes. In addition to assessing our global compensation programs for competitiveness and compliance, Trinseo will also conduct living wage gap analyses to monitor and assess living wage benchmarking.
