Trinseo’s MAGNUM™ ABS Resins are manufactured with our proprietary continuous mass polymerization technology. Our mass ABS is purer, cleaner and superior as compared to emulsion ABS since the continuous process results in a more consistent, stable and reliable product.
The resin uses exclusively post-consumer recycled (PCR) styrene obtained from household waste, and the end-applications can achieve any color with the use of color concentrates. MAGNUM™ CO2NET™ CR ABS maintains the same performance and qualities that made its all-fossil counterpart a reliable, versatile resin, suitable for both extrusion and injection molding applications thanks to its properties:
- Excellent white base color & color stability
- Superior lot-to-lot consistency
- Excellent thermal stability
- Wider processing window
- Excellent impact resistance
- Low gel & VOC levels
Advantages using Trinseo’s Recycled Containing MAGNUM™ CO2NET™ CR ABS:
- 60% chemically recycled PCR styrene from household waste
- 18% drop in CO2 compared to fossil-based material*
- Drop-in solution with similar performance and properties compared to fossil-based material
- Statement of sameness available — Re-qualification not required
- Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) report available
*Preliminary calculated values based on data from a research study conducted by styrene supplier and independent 3rd party (scope: cradle-to-gate)
