Safety

Safety is a top priority at Trinseo.

Our EH&S strategy emphasizes the well-being of our employees, the communities we serve and the environment in which we operate. We regularly update our training programs to reflect evolving industry standards and global best practices, allowing a well-rounded approach to Environment, Health, & Safety (EH&S).

Our management system is centered on Responsible Care® principles that help us exceed industry safety standards. We foster a culture of thorough investigation, prompt corrective actions and ongoing improvement to uphold a framework of internal policies, processes and procedures.

Progress on Our Safety Goal

In 2024, Trinseo maintained an incident rate of 0.30, which represents injuries and illnesses per 200,000 hours worked. We advanced hazard awareness and reduced risk through initiatives like the “Safe Summer and Beyond” campaign. Additionally, we introduced the Trinseo Safe Behaviors, which outlines 10 safety practices that we expect all employees and contractors to follow.

Highlights from Our 2024 Sustainability Report:

Safe Summer & Beyond

In 2024, we extended our Safe Summer and Beyond campaign to introduce Trinseo Safe Behaviors, a list of 10 model behaviors employees and contractors are expected to follow to work safely, prevent injuries and show care. Alongside the video series, we hosted a “Capture the Cool” photo challenge to engage employees and show how they stay safe and cool during the hot summer months.

Occupational, Health & Safety Training

Each of our facilities develops and implements a detailed program that establishes the training requirements for each role at the site. In 2024, we introduced three new global training programs: Fixed and Portable Tool Safety, Operation Clean Sweep® and Trinseo Crisis Management.

Safety Management System

Our integrated management system is certified by the ACC Responsible Care Management System®. Our facilities comply with and maintain local certifications on the management system. Additionally, each of our facilities is a member of the comparable Responsible Care® organization in their respective country.
