Reintroducing Trinseo’s LOMAX™ Technology

Trinseo is proud to announce the renewal of its longstanding partnership with the Dalton-Whitfield Solid Waste Authority. Utilizing the innovative LOMAX™ Technology, Trinseo effectively captures greenhouse gas emissions from the landfill. These emissions are then diverted to power the production of high-performing latex binders at its Dalton, Georgia facility, demonstrating our commitment to sustainable operations.

“We are incredibly excited to renew our partnership with the Dalton-Whitfield Solid Waste Authority,” said Keith Woodason, Sales Director, Paper Board and Textile. “With LOMAX™ Technology, we’re supporting the transition to low emissions (CO2eq) fuels and promoting the use of low environmental impact resources to manufacture latex binders.”

Trinseo and the Dalton-Whitfield Solid Waste Authority first partnered in 2008. Together, they have reduced methane and carbon dioxide emissions into the local community and decreased Trinseo’s reliance on fossil fuels to power its Dalton operations. Thanks to a significant investment by Trinseo in 2024 to upgrade the landfill gas processing equipment, this innovative partnership allows Whitfield County residents and Trinseo to continue the journey toward a more sustainable future for years to come.

Latex binders made with LOMAX™ Technology are used in a wide range of applications intrinsic to everyday life, including carpet backing, paper coatings, adhesives, electric vehicle batteries, and more. These applications not only demonstrate the versatility of our technology but also its significant sustainable contributions to various industries.
