Trinseo Supports Statues Promoting Inclusivity with ALTUGLAS™ PMMA Sheet

Trinseo’s PMMA sheet is known for its versatility, and one of the areas it shines most is art. Using eight colors, with glossy and dual satin grades, ALTUGLAS™ PMMA sheet was used to create an art installation commissioned by the City of Paris as part of the 2024 Cultural Olympiad.

The “4 Cardinals of Sport” is a group of stained-glass sculptures co-created by Gad Weil and Alexandra Castaing that are calling for more equality in sport and in society, while acknowledging women and people of diverse backgrounds for their contributions in sports.

These represent four women with different origins and sporting practices, each embodying a cardinal point:

  • Saheli - "north" in Bambara, represents a runner of African origin
  • Minami - "south" in Japanese, represents a swimmer of Asian origin
  • Anatolí - "east" in Greek, evokes a rugby player of origin Caucasian
  • Kunti - "west" in Quechua, depicts an indigenous female field hockey player
