Trinseo (NYSE: TSE), a global materials solutions provider and manufacturer of plastics, latex binders and synthetic rubber, will highlight its innovative new latex binder technologies from May 14-17 at Techtextil, the leading international trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens in Frankfurt, Germany.
Trinseo’s new self-cross-linking latex binder technology is a formaldehyde-free solution developed from the fiber bonding innovation pipeline that addresses evolving requirements in the technical textile industry for high performing and sustainable products. In addition, our new technology overcomes the downside of many other green solutions as it is total cost competitive compared to conventional systems.
The initial target application is polyester nonwovens for applications such as bitumen roofing, where Trinseo’s solution provides excellent high-temperature dimensional stability. Trinseo’s new latex binder solution will be produced at the Company’s facility in Rheinmuenster, Germany – a site where the Company has recently announced plans to acquire additional production capacity, demonstrating its continuous commitment to the latex binder industry and its customers.
“Manufacturers of technical textile applications around the world benefit from several decades of our industrial leadership and rely on our innovative binder solutions to deliver high fabric strength and resistance to harsh environments, while exhibiting maximum versatility in processing,” said Lauren Pagano, Global Business Director for Adhesives and Construction at Trinseo.
“The self-cross-linking technology demonstrates these advantages exceeding the performance of traditional, formaldehyde-releasing systems. By further developing our chemistry and technology portfolio in collaboration with our customers, we are able to better meet their needs and drive the entire market.”
