About Christopher D. Pappas

Christopher D. Pappas was named Special Adviser to the CEO on March 4, 2019 after serving as President and Chief Executive Officer of Trinseo for nine years, from March 2010 to March 2019.

Pappas brings to Trinseo a 35-plus year distinguished career and proven operating experience in the chemicals and plastics industry, and is an accomplished leader of complex global businesses. In his role as Trinseo's President and CEO, he leads the company's commitment to help customers meet their needs with innovative new products and sustainable solutions.

In 2017, Pappas received the Leadership Award for Outstanding Corporate Reinvention from The Chemical Marketing and Economics (CME) group of the American Chemical Society’s New York Section for his visionary leadership, focus on safety and technology, financial discipline, and for Trinseo’s growth which tripled in value during the preceding three years.

Pappas holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from The Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from The Wharton School of Business at The University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the External Advisor Board for Georgia Tech’s School of Civil & Environmental Engineering.
