The 7th Global Tire Tech Forum organized by the China Rubber Industry Association was held in Wuxi, China, between the 26th and 28th of October 2020, under the theme "Eco-friendly and Innovative Future.” Trinseo’s Synthetic Rubber team attended the forum and discussed the latest technological developments in the tire industry with more than 300 experts.
With upcoming changes in mobility & transportation and low/free maintenance vehicle parts, tire technology has become increasingly important. All-season tires are gaining popularity in the tire industry due to their wider versatility, increased convenience and lower cost for use and maintenance.
Titled “Trinseo’s New Approach for All-season Tire Development”, Thomas Wu (Senior Development Specialist, R&D at Trinseo) gave a presentation focused on the novel SPRINTAN™ 918S and SPRINTAN™ SLR3402 blends. The materials achieved overall performance improvement, compared with the traditional approach based on a popular high vinyl functionalized S-SBR. Trinseo’s approach translates into improved wear resistance, better wet grip, and uncompromised fuel efficiency.
In addition to presenting and participating in open discussions, the Trinseo team setup a meeting point where they welcomed forum participants to exchange ideas and learn more about Trinseo and the Trinseo product portfolio.
