Tapì Group, a global leader in innovative closure solutions, has taken a bold step forward in its commitment to sustainability, adding a new ingredient to its constant commitment and mission: reduce the impact on the environment and look after the planet.
In early 2024, Tapì began partnering with specialty material solutions provider Trinseo to integrate the Company’s ALTUGLAS™ R-LIFE™ VML-H CR50 polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), a high-quality acrylic resin grade made with 50% chemically recycled content, into their premium closures. This was not just a material upgrade; it was a statement of intent. From spirits to cosmetics, Tapì’s closures are designed to seal and speak. The adoption of ALTUGLAS™ R-LIFE™ PMMA aligns with Tapì’s sustainability goals: conscious resource use, streamlined production and reduced environmental impact.
Trinseo’s depolymerization demonstration facility in Rho, Italy, just 200 kilometers from Tapì’s Campodarsego headquarters, reinforces the value of local collaboration and the Italian supply chain, because it is not just a matter of the materials but also where they are sourced and how they are managed.
“Depolymerization recycling could be the key to a truly sustainable future in PMMA,” said Domenico Liberati, Chief Product Development Officer at Tapì Group.
“We’re proud to support our customers’ sustainability goals,” added Aldo Zanetti, Global Sustainability Business Leader at Trinseo. “Partnering with Tapì, a like-minded leader in closure packaging, is a natural fit.”
This collaboration goes beyond technical innovation. It is a shared commitment to responsible progress. Small material changes can carry big meaning, reshaping how we think about production, responsibility and the future.
