Trinseo’s Latex Binders Used in Open Mesh Fabric Applications Solve Wall Crack Issue

Open mesh fabric

Due to various reasons such as temperature, humidity, and chemical reactions, cracks in walls often develop during decoration of new apartments / houses, or refurbishment of old properties. They do not only affect the appearance of the property, but also cause problems such as water seepage, water leakage or on the bearing capacity of the structure. The issue can be solved by Trinseo’s latex binders used in open mesh fabric applications.

Open mesh fabric is made of glass fibers and used in cement, gypsum and walls. After coating and drying, open mesh fabric adds strength to the wall construction and prevents cracking. Trinseo’s latex binders are the ideal coating material for open mesh fabric. After coating and drying, the outstanding performance of Trinseo’s latex binders provide good water resistance and alkali resistance for open mesh fabric. Hence, the dimensional stability achieved prevents the development of wall cracks.

In addition to preventing wall cracks and achieving the required aesthetics, Trinseo’s 60 years of production and R&D experience in latex binders ensures that our high-performance products have excellent low VOC and low odor, adding value to the environment.

There are many types of open mesh fabrics available in the market, and there are different requirements for the softness / hardness of the open mesh fabrics on particular projects. Trinseo would be happy to provide technical guidance according to varying project needs.
