Trinseo Connecting with Customers to Prepare for Brexit

Trinseo is working with our customers and suppliers to prepare for the potential implications of Brexit.

News reports indicate that shipping and transport, customs clearance and potential regulatory changes could be factors disrupting normal business, particularly around the planned Brexit transition date of March 29th. Some news reports predict increased demand for truck transport and potential logistics congestion during transition.

The situation remains dynamic, and while we are unable to make definitive predictions on the exact implications of the Brexit transition on our customers’ business processes, we are ready to work together to mitigate risks of disruption.

We expect to continue to serve our customers during the Brexit transition; no shut downs are planned due to Brexit.  All Trinseo manufacturing operations in Europe are expected to operate as normal during the Brexit transition period. Trinseo does not own any U.K. manufacturing operations.

Trinseo’s Procurement department has assessed our supplier base for raw materials originating from the U.K., and are implementing plans to minimize any risk of disruption to Trinseo operations due to the Brexit transition.

Trinseo recommends that customers increase inventory in advance of the Brexit transition date. Exact recommendation on the amount of inventory will vary by customer/business. Orders should be placed in time to allow for planning of production capacity and supply chain support.

Trinseo account managers are ready to work with all our customers to put plans in place to manage risks around the Brexit transition.
