Trinseo (NYSE: TSE), a global materials solutions provider and manufacturer of plastics, latex binders and synthetic rubber, announced that its Ulsan Plant received an Incident-Free Workplace Award from the Korean Occupational Safety and Health Agency (OSHA).
Since Trinseo was formed in 2010, achieving the highest standards of safety has been a top priority for the Company. Safety best practices and environmental efficiency are embedded in its culture. More than reaching environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) target metrics, which reflect the ongoing commitment to sustainable innovation, Trinseo is committed to helping safeguard the well-being of every employee and community Trinseo touches; while protecting our planet.
Trinseo’s Ulsan plant is certainly no exception. The Ulsan plant has officially received an award from OSHA for the achievement of 20 times safety goal as an incident-free workplace. The Korean OSHA has set a safety goal for all manufacturing sites in Korea based on their size (typically the number of employees). Currently, a one-time goal for the Ulsan plant is 624 days (as the number of its employees is below 50). The Plant has achieved this goal 20 times in the past, meaning the Ulsan plant had no reportable incident to the Korean government from October, 1994 to March 2018 (i.e. 8,527 days). Among 4,986 plants listed in Ulsan, Korea, Trinseo’s Ulsan plant is the second plant that has achieved its goal for 20 times. Learn more about Trinseo’s safety and operations.
