Trinseo Launches its New Food Contact Grade ABS Resins at Chinaplas

Trinseo (NYSE: TSE), a global materials solutions provider and manufacturer of plastics, latex binders and synthetic rubber, showcased its new food contact grade ABS resins during Chinaplas 2019, the world’s leading plastics and rubber trade fair in Guangzhou, China.

Trinseo’s MAGNUM™ ABS manufactured with Mass ABS Technology has a long-standing reputation in China, Europe, and the United States. Based on the success of this material, Trinseo has introduced the latest food contact grade ABS with an even higher purity to the market. The product launch of MAGNUM™ A233 was made in a customer presentation session entitled “A Debut of Trinseo Food Contact Grade ABS” conducted by Kevin Guo, Trinseo’s Marketing Manager, PS & ABS, Asia Pacific on May 21. The product launch was well-received with customers responding enthusiastically and communicating with Trinseo’s on-site materials experts.

Specific migration test results have verified that the high purity of MAGNUM™ A233 resins meets EU and Chinese food contact regulatory requirements on ABS, and migration requirements in relevant regulations. The consistently high stability between production batches of MAGNUM™ A233 allows very stable quality and safety, which in turn provides superior material solutions in the food contact application market in the face of increasingly stringent regulatory requirements in the future. Due to its pure quality, it is an ideal material for high-end food contact applications.

“We are pleased to launch the latest MAGNUM™ A233 food contact grade ABS which is purer and safer, and can be widely used in making kitchenware and utensils, dishware, food containers, trays and small home appliances, etc.,” Guo said. “It is the material of choice for high-end food contact applications.”
