Trinseo APAC Latex Binder Team Participates in CHINACOAT 2019

Trinseo (NYSE: TSE), a global materials solutions provider and manufacturer of plastics, latex binders and synthetic rubber, recently participated in CHINACOAT 2019 in Shanghai, China from November 18-20, 2019.

Chinacoat 2019CHINACOAT 2019 was dedicated to providing an international trading platform for suppliers and manufacturers of the coatings industry to connect on a global level. The event was held this year at Shanghai New International Expo Centre where Trinseo delivered a technical seminar “Application of SB Latex in Coating Production,” and held in-depth exchanges with visitors.

The technical seminar was well-attended. Jonas Lu, Trinseo’s Binders technical manager Asia Pacific, introduced to the industry how Trinseo SB latex provides an effective solution for a lower TVOC, improving the mechanical properties of waterproof coatings and mortars.

At the Trinseo booth, the samples of styrene-butadiene emulsions suitable for moisture barrier films, environmentally-friendly cement modifiers, and sealing primers were showcased. A canoe called “Nezha Making Trouble at Sea” exhibited there was also in the spotlight. The canoe was made by the Southwest Jiaotong University Canoe Team in China with latex binders sponsored by Trinseo, providing the Canoe with excellent waterproof property it required. The Canoe Team became the third runner-up in the “2019 National Concrete Canoe Race” organized by the American Society of Civil Engineers. Trinseo was thrilled that the students’ creativity and efforts were recognized.
