The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has been felt around the world , and Indonesia is no exception. Seeing many local residents having lost their jobs during the epidemic, Trinseo’s Merak plant in Indonesia has been quick in reaching out to the community, doing what they can to meet their neighbors’ needs. To help maintain local residents’ health, Trinseo’s Merak plant has recently donated 1,000 cloth masks and 500 kg of rice to nearby villages in the Gerem, Kalibaru, and Cikuasa areas.

“One of Trinseo’s core values is to give back to the communities where our employees live and work. Seeing the smiles behind the masks is very encouraging even during difficult times. We are glad that we can work hand in hand with our neighbors, and we shall overcome,” said Hanggara Sukandar, President Director of PT Trinseo Materials Indonesia.

Trinseo maintains employee health as a top priority. Additional steps have been taken on the health and safety of our staff to minimize the impact of the outbreak. The Regional Crisis Management Team has been setup and the health of our employees is being closely monitored. Apart from essential operation staff who should be onsite, we are adopting a flexible work-from-home measure for other staff.
