Trinseo + COMMUNITY: Trinseo Hsinchu Provides Care to PVS Patients

On September 16, 2020, Trinseo's Hsinchu Site supported patients suffering from Persistent Vegetative State (PVS) with the Genesis Social Welfare Foundation (GSWF), an NGO that receives and cares for PVS patients from low-income families. The GSWF calls on local people to assist their neighbors in need, and allocates social welfare to the community. Trinseo Hsinchu provided administrative/cleaning services, raised US$1,400, as well as donated traditional food items and blessing cards.

"The GSWF feeds patients at least 3 times per day," said Grace Yang, Administrative Leader and Hsinchu's Volunteer Day Site Coordinator. "This particular center cares for 63 patients – that means they are responsible for almost 190 meals each day! Our team worked together to help clean the feeding tubes for patients, donated traditional holiday foods including ice cream mooncakes and Pomelo fruits, and wrote blessing cards to patients' families with messages of encouragement to wish them a 'Happy Mid-Autumn Festival.'"

The volunteering event was part of the global CSR initiatives of annual Trinseo Volunteer Days where employees are encouraged to participate in community involvement.
